A 32-year-old father of three was fatally shot in the city's Rosemoor neighborhood while he paid bills at his kitchen table.

A stray bullet hit Demarco Kennedy in the neck at about 8 p.m. Tuesday in his home in the 600-block of East 102nd Place on the Far South Side, officials said. Family said he was on the phone with Sprint.

He died at Trinity Hospital hours later.

The shots apparently came from the parking lot of a nearby Popeyes fast-food restaurant. A bullet traveled between a thin gangway to the second floor of home. It ricocheted off the window handle and moved inside, hitting Kennedy.

Kennedy's wife and children, ages 7, 12 and 14, were in another room and not injured.

"He was a great dad, he loved all three of his kids," said Kennedy's cousin, Beverly Smith.

For past five years, Kennedy drove trucks for the railroad. He worked the overnight shift. He was off on Tuesday when he was shot.

"He was a family man. He loved his kids. He loved going to work. He loved working for the railroad," said Lorenzo Kennedy, Demarco's brother.

Family members are now wondering how random violence has turned so many innocent people into victims.

Easy access to guns is part of the problem, family members said.

"Instead of sending little punks to jail, start a draft, send them to war ... let them shoot, become career soldiers," Lorenzo Kennedy said.

Kennedy said he and his brother grew up in a violent neighborhood, but they never made it their way of life.

"I'm just going to miss most doing stuff, proud of me as a big brother became we come from nothing and we made it," Lorenzo Kennedy said.

No one as in custody Wednesday evening, police said.

A 73-year-old Florida woman taking part in a citizen police academy was shot multiple times with a revolver and killed by a police officer during a "shoot/don't shoot" role-playing exercise Tuesday, authorities said.
Mary Knowlton volunteered for the demonstration and was assigned the role of "victim," according to a Charlotte Sun photographer who covered the event. The officer who shot her was playing the "bad guy," though it's unclear why the officer's gun contained live rounds or how and where Knowlton was shot.
"We were unaware that any live ammunition was available to the officer at the time,"said Punta Gorda police Chief Tom Lewis, who also confirmed the weapon used was known to be an "actual firearm."
Lewis called the shooting an accident and said the scenario occurred during an exercise in which authorities use simulated lethal force in a live scenario, according to WBBH-TV. He said a number of department personnel were present during the demo, including Lewis.
"It's just a horrific time for all of us," Lewis said during a Wednesday afternoon news conference.
Knowlton, a mom, wife and career librarian, was originally from Minnesota but moved to Punta Gorda recently with her husband, The Washington Post reported.
She was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital and later pronounced dead.
"I am devastated for everyone involved in this unimaginable event. If you pray, please pray for Mary's family, and for the officers who were involved. Everyone involved in this accident is in a state of overwhelming shock and grief," Lewis said.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the incident and the officer involved in the shooting has been placed on leave. The officer was not identified.

URGENT UPDATE: BREAKING: New Report Claims The Department Of Justice Rejected FBI Requests To Investigate Clinton Foundation - Obama fixes everything for people who know his homosexual & drug use secrets

'DEVASTATING BOMBSHELLS' IN NEW HILLARY EMAILS

Rush Limbaugh: 'It's an intricately woven web of deceit'

Another batch of previously undisclosed emails involving Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton – while she was secretary of state – has been released, and they reveal multiple orders from the private Clinton Foundation to Hillary Clinton’s aides at the State Department.

One was an instruction for federal officials to find a job for one interested party, whose name was redacted from the emails released by the Washington watchdog experts at Judicial Watch, and another was for government officials to have someone contact a major Clinton Foundation donor personally.

“No wonder Hillary Clinton and Huma Abedin hid emails from the American people, the courts and Congress,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “They show the Clinton Foundation, Clinton donors, and operatives worked with Hillary Clinton in potential violation of the law.”

“There are bombshells in the emails,” said radio host Rush Limbaugh. “These are the emails the FBI said they couldn’t find. … They’re just devastating.”

“It’s an intricately woven web of deceit,” Limbaugh continued. “Clinton lied about it. She said these emails didn’t exist. There was nothing worth seeing. She threw them out.”

The “newest email scandal exposes pay-for-play connections,” GOP nominee Donald Trump’s campaign blared to reporters on Wednesday.

“That the Clinton Foundation was calling in favors barely three months into Hillary Clinton’s tenure at the State Department is deeply troubling and it is yet another reminder of the conflicts of interest and unethical wheeling and dealing she’d bring to the White House,” added Republican National Committee spokesman Michael Short, in a statement.

“She views public office as nothing more than a means to personal enrichment – and every dollar she takes comes at the expense of the public welfare,” Stephen Miller, the national policy director for Trump’s campaign, said in a statement Tuesday evening.

LAYTON, Utah - A Utah police sergeant is recovering after someone tried to poison him, officials confirmed Tuesday. Layton Subway poisoning

Authorities said the sergeant stopped by the Subway restaurant on Highway 193 for lunch Monday.

When he took a sip of his drink he tasted chemicals and said he knew something was wrong.

The officer said he came to a red light on his way back to the station and his body wouldn't let him hit the brake, according to KSTU.

He made it safely back to the station and was taken to the hospital.

Authorities said the man's drink tested positive for marijuana, THC and methamphetamine.

Sgt. Clint Bobrowski said the surveillance video from Subway shows what happened.

"The suspect was seen taking the sergeant's order, filling his drink," Sgt. Bobrowski said. "The suspect left the sergeant's drink on the counter and left the picture frame. In the video you can see him returning with something in his hand and then leaning over the sergeant's drink for an unusual amount of time. The suspect then provided the sergeant with the drink."

Officers arrested 18-year-old Tanis Lloyd Ukena after seeing him on the surveillance video.

Authorities said they believe this is an isolated incident.

Subway released the following statement:

We are shocked by these charges. Our thoughts are with the Sergeant and his family and we are hoping for a quick recovery. The restaurant owners are working closely with the police in their investigation and will take appropriate action.

As this is still an active police investigation, we cannot provide any further information and must refer further questions to the police.
