The problem with most Western writings on Syria is that they exclusively rely on the same Syrian rebel and exile opposition sources, and overwhelmingly on Syrian Observatory (which has been quite unreliable on various counts and issues).  Look at this one in the new article by WINEP: "On August 9, Lebanese Hezbollah's elite Radwan battalion and two thousand fighters belonging to the Iraqi militia Harakat Hezbollah al-Nujaba arrived in Aleppo to close the Ramouseh corridor."  This has been repeated by various pro-Syrian rebel Gulf regime media.  But it is not true: Hizbollah's elite Rudwan Forces have been present in Aleppo since before the cease-fire. Also, the article does not mention the Inghimasi attacks by fighters of Turkistan Islamic Party.

An Indiana pavement ape is facing a battery charge after allegedly slugging a fellow moviegoer in the face after he complained about her talking through the entirety of a showing of “Suicide Squad.”

According to police, LaQuintae Taborn, 34, and William Mason were exiting a theater in Portage early Sunday morning when the confrontation occurred. Cops say that Mason told Taborn, “I just wanted to thank you for talking through the entire movie and ruining it for everyone.”

Taborn, a Gary resident, responded by first shoving Mason and then punching him twice in the face, police allege. Mason, whose glasses were knocked off, declined medical assistance and told cops that he did not wish to press charges.

A probable cause affidavit notes that Mason suffered “pain, swelling, and watering of the eye.”

During police questioning, Taborn reportedly said that she pushed the man when he got close to her. As for the punches, Taborn explained that she hit the man in anticipation of him retaliating for her pushing him.

Police arrested Taborn on a misdemeanor battery charge and booked her into the county jail (where the above mug shot was snapped).

Taborn was released from custody yesterday after posting $800 bond. She is scheduled for an initial hearing tomorrow in Porter County Superior Court.

At least two Arkansas police officers -- including Hackett Chief of Police Darrell Spells -- were shot in Sebastian County on Wednesday and authorities were descending on the mobile home where the suspected shooter was believed to be barricaded inside.

A deputy, who was not named, was in critical condition and Spells was still hospitalized at Sparks Hospital in Fort Smith, NEWS5 reported.

Police negotiators entered the mobile home around 11 a.m. and family members who had been inside were removed from the home, according to NEWS5.

The accused shooter was identified as Billy M. Jones, an official from the Sebastian County Sheriff's Department told 40/29 News. Jones was described as having animosity towards law enforcement officers. Spells and the deputy were at Jones' house to serve a warrant around 7:20 a.m.

A huge contingent of heavily armed police surrounded Jones' home after the shooting.

"We believe him to be holed up currently," SCSD spokesman Philip Pevehouse told The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

NEWS5 listed multiple prior offenses for Jones, including a 2007 conviction for manufacture and possession of a controlled substance and a 2011 conviction for theft of property. He was charged in February 2016 with possession of firearms and possession of a controlled substance.
