(CHICAGO)  Republican Illinois congressman Adam Kinzinger was on WLS Thursday morning, explaining why he won’t be supporting his party’s presidential nominee Donald Trump.

Kinzinger told “The BIg John Howell Show” he cannot back Trump, even if the candidate were to become more disciplined and “on message”.

“I personally can see zero way I can support Donald Trump anymore.  He has crossed too many political red lines for me, and at some point, even if tomorrow he changed, and even if tomorrow he began to stick to message and everything, I’m concerned that we’ve spent the last three or four weeks or frankly the last year, getting a window into his soul, and this is the man, who if we elect him as President, would actually be who we see as Commander in Chief, and it makes me scared.”

Kinzinger also talked with CNN about Trump’s comments that the November election will already be rigged in Hillary Clinton’s favor, saying that it’s ‘unheard of’ for a candidate to question ‘our ability to do votes here.’

The final straw for Kinzinger, though, came when Trump attacked the family of Army Captain Humayun Khan, who criticized him at the Democratic convention. Kinzinger ripped into Trump for taking their comments as “an affront to him.”

It’s a change of heart for the Congressman, who just two weeks ago at the RNC, said he’d “keep open the possibility of backing Trump.”

Rep. Kinzinger joined Big John Howell on Thursday morning to elaborate. Here is the entire segment as heard on WLS-AM 890 on Thursday, April 4.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Police are reviewing security footage at Eureka Gardens after two gunmen fired more than 50 rounds at a group of people early Monday morning. Seven people were hit.

Sgt. Shawn Coarsey with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said a group of 8-10 people were sitting outside one of the apartment buildings when three men approached and opened fire using a rifle and pistol.

Two of the people shot are in critical condition and the five others were listed as stable. Sgt. Coarsey said there was an infant in the group of people but the child was not hurt.

There was no information available on any of the people who were shot or the gunmen.

News4JAX has learned the shooters were captured on surveillance video. The video has been handed over to police as part of the investigation.

"We don't know if it's gang related at this point. Obviously we're looking into that, but I would assume that someone knew someone because they targeted this group of people for a reason," said Sgt. Coarsey.

News4JAX also spoke with concerned residents in the community.

"People don't know how to talk anymore," said Tracy Grant, President of the Eureka Gardens Tenant Association, "They just don't know how to have good communication and resolve issues. It's not all people. But when you hae issues and you don't know how to resolve them or just walk away from the situation, that's a problem."

Channel 4's Ashley Harding is at the scene and will have live reports all morning long on News4JAX.

This article will be updated as soon as new information becomes available.

Stepping up security

According to a security company overseeing Eureka Gardens, the neighborhood has been put on "high alert", meaning the maximum number of patrols allowed is being placed in the complex.

At the time of the shooting, according to the company, patrols were on duty at another Global Ministries Foundation complex, Washington Heights.

20-25 security cameras are in place, which captured images of the gunmen. Video shows the gunmen firing shots near building 7, an area heavily populated with families.

Previous crimes at Eureka Gardens

Newxs4JAX dug deeper into crimes near Eureka Gardens in the past six months. We found, within a quarter mile of the complex, there has been 45 assaults, one armed robbery, and no homicides.

CINCINNATI, OH - A Cincinnati police officer shot and killed a person that matched the description of a knife-wielding robbery suspect downtown Sunday morning.

The Vine Street Kroger was robbed at 7:20 a.m. The potential suspect was confronted by police at Fifth Street and Main Streets bus stops at Government Square at 7:41 a.m.

Cincinnati Police Chief Eliot Isaac said a struggle ensued between one officer and the suspect. The officer came out uninjured and is currently being interviewed by authorities, which is standard operating procedure after use-of-force. Isaac said a knife was found on the scene.

"We believe there is a weapon involved. We believe there is a knife involved we recovered a knife here at the scene," Isaac said.

Hamilton County Coroner Lakshmi Sammarco described the suspect as an African American male who appeared to be in his 20's. He had no identification on him.

Sammarco also said the wounds appear to be from one weapon and that the suspect was mostly shot in his torso.

"When we get him back in the office, we'll be able to a thorough examination and see if he's been shot anywhere else," Sammarco said.

It is unclear how many shots were fired. The investigation is in preliminary stages according to Isaac. The deceased suspect has not been identified yet.

During a climate where officer involved shootings have been highly scrutinized, some community leaders say having all of the facts first is important.

"What we have to do is tell people don't rush to judgment, wait until all the facts are in. Cincinnati is a model for the country," Peterson Mingo said.

Body cameras were originally planned to make their debut in the Cincinnati police ranks Aug. 1, but was delayed. Isaac says they are going through security footage of the surrounding area.

Cincinnati Streetcar's testing downtown will be delayed. However, testing in Over-the-Rhine is uninterrupted.

The officer involved is on administrative leave while the investigation unfolds.

The next step is for the Hamilton County prosecutor to look over the case and decide if charges are necessary.

Isaac said a press conference will be held within the next day.

A police officer in Wisconsin was set upon Saturday by a 27-year-old man armed with two handguns and a plan to execute the first cop he saw.

It’s a story that garnered little attention because it didn’t end in tragedy or bloodshed as in so many other recent confrontations between citizens and cops.

Not a single shot was fired. Instead, this incident ended peacefully.

That’s largely because of NYPD Officer Gregory Santora.
