Nahid Hattar is is part of an anti-Palestinian left movement in Jordan (which has been close to the royal court). He also is a staunch supporter of the Syrian regime and his racist anti-Syrian people writings ended his writings for Al-Akhbar. I never agreed with him on anything but now he is in trouble because of this cartoon in which God is portrayed.  He is so unpopular (outside of the Syrian regime circles) that no one is defending him.  But if this regime which arrested a writer for a cartoon he posted on Facebook was not pro-US/pro-Israel, there would have been universal condemnations around the world.  (The cartoon mocks the heavenly promises of Jihadi terrorists).
