The first incident left one man dead near the intersection of Sherman Ave. and Burleigh St., according to the Medical Examiner's office. The victim was driving south on Sherman Ave. when he was shot, Milwaukee police said. His vehicle crashed into another vehicle, causing minor injuries to the occupants.
Early Saturday morning, a little after 1 a.m. at 23rd St. and State St., a 21-year-old man and 23-year-old man, were shot in a robbery-related shooting. One died at the scene and the other at a hospital, according to authorities. There are no suspects in custody at this point.
At about 3 a.m., four people were shot during an altercation in a parking lot outside a tavern on W. Fond du Lac Ave. near Townsend St. Two of the victims, a 34-year-old man and 36-year-old man, have died. The other two, a 26-year-old woman and 30-year-old man, are both in stable condition at a hospital. No one is in custody in this incident, police said.
There have now been 81 homicides in the city this year, compared to 95 at the same time last year, according to preliminary Milwaukee Journal Sentinel data. The 81 deaths only account for those classified as homicides under the FBI's Uniform Crime Report. Another seven killings have been reported, but they do not fall under the Uniform Crime Report homicide definition.
A fourth shooting in the city resulted in two men being hospitalized with non-fatal injuries. A 23-year-old and a 25-year-old were shot at about 9:30 p.m. Friday near W. North Ave. and N. 34th St., police said. The motive for the shooting is unknown, and there are no suspects in custody, police said.
